Unwanted/Missing/Rogue Materials in 3DS Max Scenes

A simple work flow to finding a removing unwanted maps or materials that may still be linked in a 3DS Max Scene and exporting through the Torque DTS Exporter.

Excerpt, 'During your work flow of creating a DTS you may apply a dummy texture or create more than one Material. Now something to be keep in mind is that Max has an interesting way of handling textures/materials and even if you simply delete the maps, links or material on a material ball it does not necessarily mean its been deleted from your scene.'

"Revolutions" in texture mapping

The process of texturing/shading a 3D model always begins with UV mapping and for the past 20 years the 3D industry has used traditional UV mapping techniques which relies on cutting up a 3D model and laying the pieces of it onto a 2D grid (the texture).
